Buyer questions

Which frozen pelagic fish sell best in Cameroon?

Market demand in Cameroon commonly includes Mackerel and Horse Mackerel (chinchard); the exact mix is agreed with each buyer.

Do you sell less than a full container?

No. This corridor is quoted in full container loads (FCL) of about 26 t net (25–27.5 t depending on product and packing), which keeps the landed cost per kilo competitive. Mixed loads combining several items in one container are possible.

Which Incoterm applies?

Quotes default to CIF Douala: the seller pays freight and insurance. Under CFR, the seller pays freight and the buyer insures the goods. Under FOB, the buyer books and pays the freight. CPT is also available on request.

Which authority authorizes animal-origin imports into Cameroon?

MINEPIA issues import authorizations for animal-origin products. Other conformity and pre-shipment controls may apply according to the product.

What should be checked before a shipment to Douala?

The importer should confirm the BESC/ECTN, pre-shipment verification and any MINEPIA or ANOR certificates required for the specific product before loading.
