Read trends through the cuts, not the headlines
Market commentary on pork usually focuses on carcass prices and slaughter numbers. For an importer in Abidjan, Tema or Douala, what counts is whether the cuts the local market buys are available in full container loads, to a consistent specification. We do not publish price forecasts; we confirm availability and terms on each enquiry.
The cuts that carry West African volume
Demand in the region is built on the parts European processors treat as by-products. Our own corridors show it clearly.
- Côte d'Ivoire: front feet, hind feet, heads and neck bones
- Ghana: front feet, hind feet, neck bones and tails
- Mixed loads combining two or three of these cuts are common
Compare offers like for like
A lower price per MT can hide a different trim standard, a heavier glaze or another carton format. Fix the same cut, origin, trim standard and carton weight in every enquiry, and the comparison becomes reliable.
Shipping terms
Frozen pork travels FCL in a 40ft Reefer at -18 °C. Quotes default to CIF at the discharge port; CFR and FOB are available when the buyer manages its own freight. Every load ships with a veterinary health certificate, a certificate of origin and the commercial documents.
